Our most popular and beginner-friendly offroad route, this bike & hike takes you to Carlton Peak – one of the tallest peaks and best panoramic views in all of Minnesota! Once you make it to the top, you won’t want to come down, it’s that spectacular. The peak offers a seemingly endless view of Lake Superior and the entire North Shore.

Starting from our Schroeder location, you immediately hop on the Gitchi Gami where you’ll cross the Temperance River Gorge within the Temperance River State Park. Here, you have the option of taking a quick scenic hike along the Temperance River’s amazing geology. 

Riding further, turn off onto dirt and gravel forest trails through Superior National Forest as they make their way up to Carlton Peak. The offroad trails on this route are well kept and our mobile app navigation makes it easy to stay on track! Don’t be surprised to see some wildlife!

eBikes power you up the final climb to the Carlton Peak parking areas. Once you make it up, lock up your eBike and enjoy a short hike to Carlton Peak and Tofte Peak and enjoy the spectacular panoramic views! The parking area near the top has some picnic tables in case you want to bring some snacks! Once you’re ready, you’ll head back down the trail and towards Schroeder to our shop to check in your eBike!
